Another Confederate button today

Two trips in a row with a confederate button, this is my first state button I've ever found though the rest were I buttons. I thought it was the top of a shotgun shell at first then I flipped it over and was pretty sure it was a sunburst, a little water on it had NC staring back at me. Like almost all of them it's shank less

Nice finds! Is the object beside the j-hook lead? Soldiers would sometimes use a piece of lead like that to write letters. We have found a few in camps. Love the button! Looks like your on good ground.

Yeah it's a pencil I've found 4 there it was a skirmish site then they camped where they fought, that's why there is Yankee and confederate stuff there. 95% is Yankee relics

The far piece on the right it the lead back of a plate, found the hooks last week about 20 yards away but can't find the rest of it
