Shot silver

I did not think That I would ever find a silver half when I started detecting a year ago but through luck I managed to find my third today! First I drove a half an hour to hit an old fair ground that I got permission to hit, but there was still a solid foot of snow covering every square inch of the property. So I hit a random farm field that a friend owns it was mostly bare and there happened to more trash targets than I thought it would have. (found out after that there used to be a barn right in the area I was in). Anyway I got a really good low 90's target and dug it quick thinking it was trash, because I really did not expect a coin and out pops a 1951 d half, that probably had a good back story. I also got this small lock a 1925 wheat and a slick wheat possibly 1923?. Looks like the northeast is in for a stretch of warm weather so hopefully things will open up for us next week.

Congrats!! Any time a big silver shows itself it turns into a Awesome hunt. Nice old lock too...

1951 was a good year..... the year , I was born... and I have found over 2 dozen halves in my life, but, my one and only Franklin, was a 1951 too....

Never found a Franklin or seen one looking like that, but Congrats on the very cool find!

Some really nice finds. I have numerous Barber and
Walking Liberty Halves but I don't recall ever recovering a Franklin.
