After my Barber find on Saturday, I was still pumped and door knocked a 1897 house in town that I had been trying to get since last fall. After 4 hours of
searching, I didn`t even find a wheat penny, needless to say I was shocked, I guess it must have been hit before.
So I went to plan B, I drove over to a small town nearby and decided to do some more sidewalk strips, Tuesday I found 7 wheats so I was thinking I would
at least find a Merc if I kept going.
This morning I went back to finish and started detecting at 10 am, after going most of the way down the first block, I got a jumpy 23-27 and figured it would be
a wheat penny or possibly a clad dime.
After getting the plug out, I found a little silver rim poking out of the dirt, so I figured I found my Merc, when I flaked off the dirt I saw another "one dime"
and thought, wow! another Barber after only 4 days!! After spraying some water on it I saw the lady sitting down and without thinking let out a little yell,
I was about 50 feet from a funeral home, and a few people came over to see what this guy was hollering about.
This was only the second target of the morning, and it was 10:17 and here I am sitting staring at this beautiful little coin, never thought I would find one of
these anytime soon, and in a sidewalk strip to boot, wow!!
I don`t know how it got bent, I`m guessing that was why the signal was so jumpy.
