Got up early and went out to the local park and dug some clad here and there, along with all sorts of odds and ends. (Heineken badge that lights up, laser light pointer, lawn sprinkler, Camp Snoopy token, broken thermometer - and some others I have no idea what the heck they are. Just going to dump them in a jar until I have time to figure them out.) I switched locations and thought I'd try a spot I had been doing some research about. Lot's of trash and junk but just before I decided to call it a day - I dug up my first silver Roosevelt Dime! Made my whole day! A button that looked pretty fancy was about a foot over from the dime. No idea if it's old or not.

Now I am for sure going to hit that area again!!

Nice silver, looks like you had a nice little hunt there

Thanks! (Sorry the photos were so big - I'll shrink them down next time)

nice to see you found a silver! a big congrats on your finds!

You were busy! That round piece with all the holes is part of a fly fishing reel.

Now that's what I call diggin' the full shebang. The proverbial trash and treasure combo. Take it from 40-year-plus detectorist, if you keep hunting with that wonderfully wreckless abandon, you're going to find amazing things.

Congrats , black651 !! May it be the first of MANY :headbang: CMD

Well done on the first silver. I hope you find much more! (Nice photo quality, too. That dime looks amazing.) :)

Still waiting for my first silver. Have 2 gold rings, but really want some silver! Way to go!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your silver, nice finds, HH.

Good Job!!! One of many more silvers to come. Good luck!

Great hunt. That sprinkler isn't a lawn sprinkler, it's a fire protection sprinkler head from a building. HH -Garbageman

Thank you all for the kind (and fun!) feedback! Such wonderful camaraderie on this board. :icon_sunny:

baspinall - Thanks for the ID on the fly fishing reel thing :icon_thumright:

garbageman - Thanks to you too for the correction on the fire sprinkler! :icon_thumright:

Started taking my detector to work with me (I bike to and from my job, only about 18 miles round trip, so not bad) in hopes of spotting a nice park or area that will be okay to detect.

See you all on here again soon!

Congrats on your 1st Silver ! :icon_thumright:

Good hunt a first silver is always the best :icon_thumleft: that button cap looks like it had a silver splash once hh Dd60

Good on you!

And I think you may have a nicer Roosevelt than you may think. There seems to be 2 different possible cuds on the obverse (Roosevelt) side: one near the date, one near LIBERTY. Cuds add value to any coin. A cud is a piece of metal which becomes detached from one coin, and deposited usuallly near the rim of the next coin. Multiple cuds means more rarity.

your finds are getting better a silver rosie is good find keep at the finds will come

Congrats on your first silver !! :icon_thumleft:

My first was a Rossie too... :icon_scratch:

They start to come easier after the first one !! :headbang:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D
