Went back to the corn field today. Some spots are still frozen but
it is much better. Back was bothering me a bit so I kept it short,
though I did manage one more King George II. This one has more
detail, but having a hard time getting the date.I will work on it more
tomorrow. Had a pretty good weekend,3 George II, 3 large cents,
some musketballs and flat buttons, also a civil war era token.
I will make it back there sometime this week. Best part is this
field is only 5 minutes from home.
HH and good luck to all.
Barry.

or maybe a piece of early silver from this site.

Congratz on the awesome week of early finds ... that field site is great ... wish you continued good luck!

I believe the date is 1729.. I'm fairy sure it's 172.. One line they say they only made one year in the 1720's for KG II that would be 1729... Hope this helps out.

Thanks creeper, I am going to try to clean it up a little more tomorrow.

I cannot believe those coins would depict Britannia showing some ankle like a common trollop.

For allowing this numismatic travesty, I think that the bones of George II and George III, desecrated by time, should be unearthed and DESECRATED in a to be determined fashion SOME MORE!

Instead of coins that mock the philosophy and heart of a nation, why not use an image that is not offensive; like a barnacle, turkey, or the National Insect of England?

We should find some marble statues of George II and George III and put THOSE in jail!

We must be vindicated.

The spirit of Britannia must be steadfastly defended from kings and despotic project mangers at the mint!

at least she wasn't showing her drumstick.

Gotta love those "five minutes from home" finds. Those are my favorites.

Congrats on the copper!
