Another Gold Necklace that was supposed to be Silver

I stopped by thrift store on vacation and they had quite a bit of jewelry. I saw this gold necklace and thought it was worth a peek. The lady said it was gold plated sterling. When I looked at it I could see a mark of 585. That really made me wonder about the the honking big diamond pendant. I don't think it's real but I'll test it when I get back in town. I also saw this ring marked Sterling for $10. That thought for sure it was wrapped in gold wire. I did a quick web search on the signature Sonya and found the ring online and it is sterling silver and 14 karat. Several have sold online for a premium. I also picked up his Gold filled cuff links I liked for a $1.

Beachkid23...it is 14kt not gold plated Sterling. I don't know why she said it was Sterling.
