This is another good haul I had this year during my non-posting 1st quarter. This is my last post showing past finds......future posts will be current finds. I'm posting this one because it has Morgans and Peace dollars.
The pictures below are a combination of a 2 day hunt. I took a dual purpose road trip to visit my mom out of town and hit some banks while in route and in the town she lives in. The other half of the hunt was the same bank I mentioned in yesterday's post but a different branch.
The way this bank worked is like this......the branches order coin from the main branch's bank vault. The main bank distributes the coin to the branches as needed. The main branch had about 4K-5K (halves) in the vault which I bought in two purchases. I kept ordering to see how deep the stash went only to find out it didn't go deep at all. Anyway, after the main branch distributed the existing halves they had to then order from the Fed to fill my orders. That is when I started getting boxes from the same source as my regular pickups. As they say, all good things must come to an end. I still use this bank as a source for boxes but they are not very consistent like my regular pickups but I don't complain because that would just make matters worst. I want them to work with me...not against me.
The new looking coins in the middle of the picture are the same coins that were in yesterdays picture that came from this same bank....different branch. Most of the Franklin's came from the "rice sack" bag as well.
Anyway, on with the story......after hearing folks talk about searching bags of Ike's, I tried finding a bank that could get some. Well, that wasn't easy. I tried about 20 banks.....none could get them. Finally at one bank a vault teller said she would try and get back to me. About a week later she called and said she could get a $500 bag which I told her I would take. Searching that many Ike's was fun!!! It was my first time really searching Ike's.....they are big & very easy to search.....eye friendly so to speak. Well, this bag of 500 contained 4 Morgans and 4 Peace dollars!!! There were no silver Ike's in the bunch but I'd rather have the Morgans and Peace dollars anyway.....ha! I called this same bank the very next morning to find out if I could get more and was told that was all they could get. Maybe I called too soon....not sure. I am going to wait a few months and try again......I don't want to be a hassle to them.
On the road trip I stopped at some banks picking up the hand rolls here and there and one bank had dimes with the clear wrappers so I purchased a box and found the dimes that way. They are so fun and easy.....just edge search and dump the unopened rolls at the next bank I see that I have an account with.
At one bank, the quarters were in a tellers tray...all in the front of the tray so they really stuck out like a sore thumb. The way she had them arranged in her tray I knew she knew about silver coins...that wasn't a coincidence being arranged like that. I almost didn't get these.....it took some fancy talking to get the from that teller....lol. She said she was saving them for herself. She said someone had came in with several rolls of quarters and she was keeping these. Why don't these tellers take these coins out of their trays if they want them
? I don't blame them for wanting to keep them...I would too if I were a teller, but take them out of the tray please.
I don't remember the total haul for the 2 days but it was fun needless to say.
BTW - My mom thinks I am half crazy for running around buying coins and returning them.....lol.

your mom might think that your crazy but where is can u make 12x the value of anything ...but again maybe she is partially right 
, cuz there are alot of on here that run on the rush of finding silver , I call it picking free lottery tickets cuz u never know...anyway another great find
