Another gracious day hunting Vino's spots with CJon, Old Dude and George

Left my house at 6:15 am, got home at 6:30, long cool day. I met up with Chris and Dave at one of George's sites, we all hunted there until about noon. I was the bug again with three wheats and a old knife. We drove up to another spot and met George, we all have hunted together there before. I was the bug again with a wheat, horse tack rings, and a very nice buckle. Windshield was hard today, but I'll survive, after all, just like deer hunting, sometimes it's not the size of the antlers, it's the hunt. I had the gracious opportunity to hunt in places we all dream about. I got to meet Old Dude (Dave) and it was perfect weather for all of it. What a difference a little rain makes. I seen stuff popping up from places I know Iv'e seen people and myself, already go over. Nice finds for all those guys, still very exciting. Enjoy the pix

Dang brad that buckle is really nice, I didn't see that one! Very nice! Today was a great day, great weather and finds all around, now if his highness will post his finds for his short hunt, lol jk george, you killed it today

That's a pretty cool buckle, Brad. I missed seeing that in person. I tried getting a date off that LC.....George was right! I just can't get one darn it! Hope today was the first of many hunts I get to share with you. Thanks for your hospitality today.

I want to see a pic of that Large Cent Dave, it is a beauty, even if you can't get a date. I swear I seen some great detail on that coin.
You can hunt with me anytime you want Dave, You drive on down, I got some upcoming spots when this weather turns cold and those chiggers crawl up behind the bark on them trees. Cellar holes, and agriculture fields for starters.

There IS good detail on it, except for the most important thing~the date, lol! I don't know what struck the reverse, but it sure did a number on it, along with my digger.

Wow dave that's wierd, the date wore right off, ehh who cares still a sweet LC

Well you can't see the date but the type is clear I think - Matron Head Modified (1835 -1839). To narrow it to just 5 possible years
isn't too bad really .

Let's get back to that buckle.....was it for human use or horse tack? Looks like it has some old patina on it.

That's what I was wondering, it's got that nice green patina, really nice looking

Looks like a shoe buckle to me Dave, too bad it'd not a "chains" LC
