Went out for a few hours with the V3i. Hit another Indian 1906 at 9" (I love IHP's) and then went on to another park and got a signal for a nickel at 7" out came this K & L of S 1892 Pin. Research revealed that K&L of S was a Fraternal Order founded in Kansas in 1892...called:
Knights &Ladies of Security Fraternal benefit Society
Membership wasover 90,000 by 1910. The name changed to Security Benefit Association in 1919, andthis order was active until the 1960s.
Wisdom, Security& Protection was their motto.
I love finding old stuff and then researching the history.
The Pin is brass with Celluloid picture, hard to believer's still visible after 120 plus years in the ground.
Thanks for looking MackDog
