here's this afts. finds. For me the best is the 17th Century buckle. Also had a jetton 16th c, a nice lead weight ?,and a well worn hammered penny 13th/14th c. And a medieval strap end 13th c.

HH Robert.

Congrats! I like the buckle the best.

yeah, nice 17th C spur buckle, had 3/4's of one the other day, nice to get complete :icon_thumright:

To be honest, they are ALL good finds this time of year. I have been lucky with our friend finding new land when we have very few choices!

Normally I avoid pasture fields, but the last couple of weeks ive really enjoyed searching pasture and even woods. Today was great felt really child out, and for once didn't care if I found or not. Must be getting mellow at last.

Hello Shaun, both the hammered and the jetton are pretty much shot to be honest. Trying to clean them would be pointless. I think though that they are pointers to what could be found if this field was ever ploughed. Someone that follows me may have that pleasure.

Hmmm makes me wish you could get the permission and rent the equip. needed to do that, heck I'd pitch in just so I could see the pics!

Good luck! :icon_thumleft:

you could always hire a rotivator and do it while no one's looking :laughing7:

You've had some great finds from the pasture field,
I'd keep at it if I were you.
Dave.

Great buckle and other finds! Is that a military (i.e. ECW) buckle?

Hello John, it's not military as such, but it's from that period.

It's nice and simple in design, probably the most found type of 17th century buckle. Do these type of buckles turn up on your side of the pond. I would be amazed if they don't.
