Another old farm house found

I ran into this one by accident taking a short cut to Woodstock yesterday. No detector with me then but stopped back today for a quick sweep. Deep clad around the front so probably filled but did score 1 oldie so... maybe, just maybe there's a couple silver left to be had. I'll add any future finds to this post.

Lots of those old houses around in different areas of the country, mostly outside of towns. However, they look better than they are. Yes, they are beautiful, but structurally, can be a nightmare. Lots of rot and termites usually. Generally you can design and build one cheaper than you can restore one. Really. That one is a beauty, though!

Just guessin', this wasn't along Franklinville Road was it? Is there a shortcut other than Rt. 47?

Remember, lots of these places are now owned by banks/developers in the city. So while they don't maintain or upkeep the property, they may have an eye on it so make sure you're in good standing with the neighbors, or at least the McHenry County Sheriff, since one of his may be stopping by to check on ya!
