A couple of friends of mine and I (smoman & ppratt) decided to hit a couple of sites that we got permission to hunt last Friday. This one turned out to be pretty much a junkyard and darn near impossible to hunt due to all the junk (there were about 10 junk cars around this house if that gives you an idea.)

As beautiful as she is, it was a junkyard all around her. :-\ Pretty much a pop can or anything else garbage you can imagine everywhere you swung.

So anyways, I only dug deep targets and ended up pulling out this neat broach in a small plowed section above the house:

I think it may be gold plated? :icon_scratch: And pretty old too, I'm guessing...

And this cool piece of what I think was a large horse bell:

Thanks for looking and HH!

That is a beautiful old house. Underneath that junk is probably some great stuff, if you don't mind making 50 trips to clean it out first.

Looks like you found a couple nice things, though. Keep 'em together, maybe you'll get back to that site and find some more.

Don't ya hate that when the pickings are just too hard to find. It can be frustraiting but worth it sometimes..Still, nice broach and crotal bell...Congrats on those well deserved digs. jgas

Way to go on a couple of nice finds. Dig the junk off the treasure.....if you get tired of doing that, then take a break to some-
where else. Then come back to it. I have a site that I have made 8 trips to.....haven't been back in one year, but am going.....it is still producing.
Great job......and, like the one person said, that old house is not going anywhere!!!

If you soak that Brooch in Lemon Juice for 15 minutes & then rinse off with water, it will show off the remaining hidden Guilt :icon_thumright:

Brooch is nice and that would have been a very nice and large crotal bell!

Got to love those old house sites. That croatal bell is huge. Can't wait to see what else may come out of there.
