I found this today. It looks like it could be a flat button with shank broken. It has a mold seam and I believe it’s pewter. I found it at an old Train depot dating 1926. The numbers are shaped like a stamp would be, but they are not reversed. Maybe it’s a number that would have went on the front of a toy steam train. Any thoughts are appreciated 9A378A3B-C2CE-4A0E-B310-A0740794274B.webp6F94B213-CB59-4258-B51F-6D4E27F8FA3F.webp3F173FB3-E4B1-4325-B1B2-4F6B53CAF132.webp1E97D27B-EACD-430E-9A53-482EAD073CD9.webpA5ABB73A-4B7B-4B03-9B88-AA0ECCC44CB3.webp

It's a number for windows , storm windows and screens.
They could get the window to fit in that number
The out side window sill also had the same number.

I think it might be the head off of date nail. The railroad depot would make it even more likely.

Or a date nail. Kind of the same...but not I guess. Definitely the head of a nail

Now I will have to go count the Windows.

Just for curiosity sake, what is the actual diameter of the item in question?

Agreed. Railroad tie date nail.

OR "pole" date nail.

if thats a penny next to it, it is too small for a tie date nail from my experience. I would go with window or pole

Thank you all for your expertise. I am calling this one solved the item is definitely exactly like the numbered tacks. Also, the material is flaking like zinc. All the good detective work has IMO made it clear that the Item is a Window Tack. Thanks Rodger Dodger.
