I have noticed Mr Cardinal is a bit more colorful in the past week, I don't know if they really do get brighter as mating time approaches but I am beginning to think so. I also read in the local paper today that a pair of Bald Eagles are already incubating their eggs in a new nest in Millville NJ area. Hard to believe they start so early, but they do.......

I sure hope this is a sign. Good picture.

Great picture Don! I've noticed the cardinal and the finches getting a little brighter. All the birds are looking to re-claim their nests. The grackle was trying to steal the purple finches nest the other day (the nest is on the porch) Gerry went out and chased the grackle away, can't let the big guy win. :D The finch has had that nest for ten years and we'll be danged if they are getting evicted by some big bird now. ;)

Hey Don...I've got 2 daffodils/buttercups blooming in my front yard. Saw then Sunday evening but have left and gotten home in the dark all week so no pics!
