Found this piece on the surface of the ground next to a cellar hole.
The widest part measures 3.25" and the middle bar measures 3" across.
There are also some lines on either side of it. Any help is appreciated.

Kinda weird for the site, but weirder things have happened. Thanks!

Looks like part of an air cleaner/carburetor riser.

Almost looks like some kind of buckle

What type of metal? You may have to clean it up a bit to see if there are any I.D. marks on it.

It appears to be made out of iron. There aren't any marks that I can see besides the ones I already posted.

I can't help but see a mount for the old sealed beam headlights. The side markings could be for adjustment purposes.

Too small for a headlight bucket and definitely not part of an automotive thermostat. If it had a flat bottom, maybe, but it needs to seal on that surface and this item wouldn't do that. It looks to me like a backing for mounting something where you need to spread the load, such as on plaster or drywall.

Although I can't find an exact match I can't get the idea that it is part of a table top coffee grinder.
Similar examples to what I'm thinking....
