I found this a couple weeks ago at a sight were we have found some CW buttons and a carbine sling buckle. It could be CW related I don't know. It looks to me like it might have come off some kind of a bugle or some kinda wind instrument. I could be way off. Any ideas?

That's what gave an incoming artillery round that shrill whistling sound just before it hit. Psychological effect on the receiving end. That's just a guess though. Monty

looks kinda like an old boatswain whistle fron the navy. a lot of stuff like that was brought home and given to kids who took them out in the woods playing, only to get lost.

Looks like a manifold for a gas burner - like on your barbeque. Gas comes in from tube and mixed with air as it goes across the cutlike opening.

Just a thought.

Shades of Spike Jones, it could be a slidewhistle. Bluezman
