Today I found this cast cat figurine which has an outer copper plating covered in white paint. To me it seems anomalous because the site is deep in the woods with a very small debris field (mostly rose head nails) near scattered foundation stones, normally producing finds mid-1700's through the antebellum period. I also found these two buttons nearby today and last year I found an 1822 large US cent close by. What makes this really strange is that it appears someone shot it through the base causing the back to break outwards.

Anyone want to guess on the cat's age?
