Antique Gun Hammer?

Found this in an old house spot in an open field. To me it resembles some type of gun hammer, either on a pistol, or some type of rifle. Does anyone agree?

A gun hammer would have a hole for the bolt (normally square) that it pivots on.

could be the relese arm of an older double barrol shot gun. there were many types.

I think its the window latch. The swing arm for the shotgun seems much more flat on one side.

My opinion and .50cent will get you a 1/2 cup of coffee on this one
