Found this old light bulb in the creek crazy enough. It has a pin base no screw. The filament looks pretty cool. Anyone have an idea on what type of bulb this is.

I agree as well, the one you found was never used or there would be no filament left in the bulb and the glass would be burnt.

Regular light bulbs have the filament sealed inside in a vacuum, e.g. no oxygen, otherwise when current is applied to the bulb the filament would burn away and bulb quits producing light.

A flashbulb is sealed with oxygen inside and the very fine and numerous filaments are very much like a spider web, when current is applied the fine filament in the presence of oxygen burn away very rapidly thus producing the flash.

Thanks all for the replies. Also AU Seeker for the detailed information. Awesome to find out so quickly

So how many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

Only one, but the light bulb really has to want to change.

I used plenty in my younger years also.
