Hello everyone!
I am starting a coin shop finds log. I will be posting all kinds of unique and interesting coins I find at the coin shops I go to here.
I will also be posting the crazy good deals I sometimes get there. ( I seem to be lucky )
Hope you guys enjoy! :-)

Well, I hope that the proprietors of the Coin Shops don't frequent TNnet and read your post! If they do, then those crazy good deals could end.

The one by us always has englehard bars in the scrap box. They seem to carry a premium on eBay. They are always the same price as the generics. Last time I went bought. 5 for $23 each.

Here are some pics of the best and most interesting coins i got from a coin dealer about 1 week ago.

That's right! The elusive 1916 d mercury dime!
This is THE best deal I have ever found.
Here's the story behind it:
I went to a coin shop in Nashville.
I asked if they had any mercs and he said yes. So he goes to the back and gets a big bag of them and lets me look through 30-50 of them. I see a 1916 and think "why don't I look at the back and see if it has a d" well when I saw it did I felt like screaming "it's a d! It's a d!" Lol. Wanna guess what I got it for?
$1.80!
Moral: do your coin research well.

I hope you guys like my story and coin and hope you get lucky too! :-)

Here's some stuff i found today:

Did you send it off to be graded and authenticated? Reason I say that is as I once was told, only a couple hundred thousand were minted, but over a million collectors have it in their collection. No one would touch mine until it was encapsulated. Hope it's real though.

Haven't sent it off yet. I can't find a grading company that will let me just send 1. Seems like they all have a min. of 10

Exactly my thoughts- its faked so much that unless its in a slab I wont buy one- for your sake I hope its real but im leaning on it being a fake- come back with the results please once you have it sent
Thanks

just keep stacking, just keep stacking, stacking stacking stacking

Do you know of a grading company I can send 1 coin to be graded/authenticated? As I said above, it seems like they all have a minimum of 10

Where do you see a "D" on this coin?

Under the bottom leaf and a little to the right

I have looked up pics of 1916 D's on the internet and it looks like it to me.
I'll try and take a better pic in a bit

What I am seeing is definitely not an S, and the only other option is a D. I took it to a dealer in Nashville and he thinks it's a d too.

I have 20-20 vision and even straining I can't tell. I looked at picture of both 1916 d and 1916 s and I will show them to you and let others give their opinion. 8726782_2.webpindex.webp
