I recently picked this bowl up at an estate sale. It is marked VSL (Val Saint Lambert) Belcique (Belgium). It is blue in color, and octagonal in shape. It measures approximately 9" length x 9" width x 4" height. The bowl is heavy, and well made. At each corner of the bowl is an embossed crouched young girl or woman with her head in her lap, covered by her arm. Can anyone tell me when this bowl dates from? Is this a fruit bowl, or was it used for something else? Did it have a lid at one time? Does anyone know what pattern this piece is? Any idea on value? Thanks!
