Can you read any of the letters? That will help with the research.

The reverse is winged Victory facing right. Victory is widely used on ancient coins but I can't find a match for that one.

Do you know the weight?

Dad's Thoughts:

I believe the coin is a CARACALLA but the lettering is not that clear and there are odd features on it. For instance, there is a strange circular indentation on both sides of the coin in the central area as though a punched hole had been there. The obverse legend could read something like MAVR ANTONINVS CAES and the Reverse text for a Victory left is not as I would expect as it should normally start VICT. Caracalla coins did use ANTONINUS PIUS legend too and the head is not an Antonius Pius one in my view.

Wildwinds doesn't have EVERY coin, so its not a 'perfect' judge.
