My buddy and I found this with our AT Pro in what used to be an old coal mining area where all the migrant workers lived. The long tip is very thin but appears to be sharp. Any help with this one is appreciated.

Interesting, thanks for the post I would agree and it might be a smaller one but It's not much bigger than the length of my index finger and it has 2 pieces. Almost like a sheath that it fits into. I thought maybe it was some type of medical device or something.

I could be wrong but I think it is an old awl. Sooner or later some others will chime in I am sure. Got any photos of it cleaned up?

No I we haven't done anything with it yet. I'm too afraid that it might break. I was thinking about putting it through electrolysis to see if we can't get it down to the metal without breaking it.

If your area is like mine, those workers came from many European countries. You know they brought many unique possessions with them, so it may be something European in origin. Good find.

Yeah the more I learn about the place the more I can't wait to get back. The area was full of migrant workers. I found the location of where the general store was so I'm hoping that will turn up something too. Thanks
