Any CRHers in San Franciso/San Rafael? On a trip, need a dump bank

Us bank in Washington state sometimes has coin counter. Google it.

Also, first tech credit union.

Also coin star hack. Do a gift card redemption, and unplug phone line mid transaction. test with small amount first.

Unfortunately there is a big fat 0 on the coin counters in San Francisco. We have to get by with rerolling or bags. I can't speak for San Rafael.

How do you dislike comments on this forum? Dont get the poor guy busted on his roadtrip. "In local news, a coinstar hack was videotaped trying to beat the system...."

Anyone in this area know which banks/branches may have coin counters? Thanks!
Reroll and drop them at a BoA for deposit. Then go to the ATM and take out the cash. I think most of the heavy hitters use bags but on a RT it might be hard to get that all started. There is a large lack of coin counters in CA from what I've heard.

If you have an account at one of the major national banks, deposit by bringing in a CoinLok bag. Maybe you can get some bags in advance of your trip and bring 'em with you...

I opened two accounts to use out here: Chase & Wells Fargo. I bought at Wells Fargo & went to Chase with the coins rolled and got my $500 back pretty easy. Chase said they would take a coin lock bag, but I also heard the possibility & mention of the "f" word for the first time in my short career: FEE.

Unfortunately, Wells Fargo did not order me the two boxes I request before I went, because they apparently had three boxes of rewrapped dumps that were perfect for me to request and take off their hands. I called last week from Connecticut before I came, stopped in yesterday to see if they had them, and today bought one box to find it opened and rewrapped. Total bummer. Now I am probably going to get a box or two of MWR dimes next week when I get back from the gold panning, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevadas trip I am going on for a week. Hopefully, I'll get some of that gold in the stream! - Happy Hunting, Jonathan

The local Wells branches have been very stingy recently. If they didn't have those dumps they probably would have dropped the F-bomb on you. Have you tried calling ahead to the Wells and Chase branches up in the mountains? Might have a little better luck on the Nevada side of Tahoe -- at least dumping might be easier!

U.S. Bank's South San Francisco branch at 370 Grand Ave has one according to their website. I just re-roll halves out there since there is no TD Bank or other bank that has a coin counter.
