Any doll experts?

Found this doll head in the same hole as an IH cent at the old farm site I did so well at, just got around to cleaning it up. It is porcelain (I think) and is 1 1/2 inches high by 1 inch wide...Any ideas as to what it went to and the age? the back of it has stamped in it 14 and what looks to me to be an underlined small a?

Are you sure it's a doll head? Looks like a shrunken head to me...

I collect antique dolls. Your doll head would date from about 1900. Give or take a decade. It would have been made in France or Germany and had a body made of composition, much like paper mache. If you check inside the head you may find a pair of glass eyes floating around in there. Kind of a nice little head. They always look spooky without eyes and hair. Good luck to you and HH.

Tempe...thanks for that, I appreciate it!! If there were any eyes inside I dumped them out, never thought of that when I was cleaning all the dirt out of the inside and just dug it out and dumped it in the trash as I went.

Yeah well if you woulda had the eyes it woulda sold for 1,000,000 dollars.. oh well! LOL just kidding.
