Any good areas in nc to get pay dirt?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good places or creeks I could go to find gold I haven't ever found any yet so I'm really ready to actually find some.

Don't know where you are in NC but I would suggest a trip to Mt Creek Gold Mine in New London NC. Bill has dirt for panning and he and his daughter will show you how to pan and help you with any questions.
