I found this hook type item at a ghost town here in northern AZ. It appears to be hand forged, and pretty old. The size is approximately 3" x 3". Any ideas? Thanks in advance! iron hook.webp

looks like the crank off of a coffee grinder

I honestly don't know if a coffee grinder crank would be so thick and heavy, but I guess it could be one? :dontknow: The diameter of the shank is 1/2".

does the hole happen to be 3/8'' ? a common chain size.

The hole does appear to be 3/8-ish. It's pretty rusty.
