found this today at the river while looking for points. It's hard like rock. I found a bone there and this weighs more than the bone did, & hitting both objects with a rock the bone had a much different sound, this object sounded more like a rock I was testing sounds with. I know there have been lots of fossilized mammal bones found in MO, it's just that I've never found one. so I am just not sure. Thanx for lookin.

Wow! That has to be a tooth but I have no idea what kind. Good find!
 

looks like a woolly mammoth moller, BUT it could be from a cow, steer, horse,or a buffalo nice find :thumbsup:

thanx for the link cruisin. I think you are right, it's bison. the guy in St.Louis thinks so too. I did find it on the river bank where there was a native american camp, so that makes sense. Thanx everyone for your replies and help
