Any help IDing token found in Michigan?

Any help ID'ing token found in Michigan?

Sorry I can't post a picture.

The token is bent and doesn't come out nice on the scanner.

Anyway, one side of the token says "Pontiac Lines" which I'm guessing is a reference to Pontiac, MI.

The other side says "Good for one schoolfare."

It also has a few nothces cut out of the center that surround a school bus. The bus is located on both sides.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how old a token like this would be?

My guess is the 50's or 60's, but I'm not sure. I found it in the yard of an 1870's era house that is approximately 40 miles NE of Pontiac.

Sure it doesn't say "Pontiac City Lines"?

If it does, there were varieties of the "Good for One School Fare" token introduced in 1937 and again in 1945.

Its bent right where I'm assuming "City" would be. However, I can make out the letter "Y" so I'm sure thats probably it.

Just out of curiosity, how can you identify the years in which it was produced?

It's listed, with dates issued, in The Atwood-Coffee Catalogue of United States and Canadian Transportation Tokens .

Sounds like a transit token.
