I would think horse tack of some sort. Either saddle decoration or bridal piece.

Any idea what this could be? I found it in any area where we have been finding older coins and flat buttons.
I dug one exactly like it last year and was told it was a saddle ornament. I think it’s definitely 18th century because I found mine with shoe buckles, an 1738 coin, flat buttons and a Revolutionary War period 1st American Queens Rangers button. Nice find, hit that area hard.

It’s a strap end from something horse related. Probably bridle.
