Drive wheel, the wide belt was driven by it.

I like the idea of a "farmer up" flywheel made from available parts. But there's no axle bearing/collar.

Might also be a concrete tractor wheel weight for better traction. Two holes for big-arse bolts.

As of yet i have not found anything resembling the ring pattern all the belt drives are flat the weighted tire could be a possibility that was a good thought. But the ring still throws me off

Well... although not based on anything from experience or knowledge of your find...

my first thought when I saw it was a "counterweight".

When you're pouring concrete you need a form. If you have a pair of old wheel rims kicking around from a abandoned planter or bailer - why not put them to use? Cut away the hub, lay it on plywood and you have a form. Use a waxed bucket full of rocks (you can pull out when hardened up) for the center hole. Keep the edge of the concrete from chipping, too. Farmers did with what they had - some still do.

Ok... as I was logging off... I remembered... that I remembered something... :P

What you have is a Grist Mill wheel IMO.... which is what I originally thought it was... but the "wheel" metal look threw me...

I was too tired to look last night... so... IMO... "Grist Wheel".

And I think pepper is correct... this is the "drive wheel" or the likes.

This IMO... is from a mill of some sort.

I think some folks are on it....worn mill wheel.

Easy to tell. Is it stone or concrete?

Well from what i have gathered... re-pops were made using concrete at times.

You're likely on it...

Outer wheel was an implement/buggy/wagon ect. Repurposed.

Making mill for animal feed out of repurposed material certainly is plausible on a old dairy farm I think the mystery is solved looking forward to posting more things as they get rediscovered
