Hansome sharpshooter type medal. Looks like gold, which was common for such prestigeous awards. The date would be 1894 and perhaps was G.... Rifle Club. If it were a Texas piece you may be able to locate Mr. Luckert in the city that starts with a G......if it's a Texas medal. Very nice chunck of history

Very nicely made and engraved. Is there anything on the back?
I would imagine it is gold plated.

Dang! Nice engraving! Try doing a search for a F. Luckert on gun club web sites around the area you found it. Nice find.
Gun shops near you? Show it around to the older "hang arounds"

Was probably a new york piece.
