I can tell it is old by the patina but that is it.

Yes and the holes are counter sunk for wood screws by the look of it

Hinge from a grandfather clock. They are nailed to the "window" that covers the face. The offset (curvy bit) swings the door clear of the pillars/columns on either side of the face.
