found this in my yard looks kind of like a clamp of some kind just don't know how it would tighten down on anything about 1 and 3/4 inches long was about 6 in. down in the ground thanks for your help!!!!

I believe its electrical related but there is a part missing that somehow tightens up. Thats my guess.

Its half of an electrical cable clamp. The threaded end goes through a saddle and gets tightened with a nut. Can't find a picture to post, but here's a link to something similar.
