Found this cap/top of something at an old site......it is about 1 1/4 inches high.....weighs 1 1/2 ounces/50 grams....appears to have an etching on top and has a cork like material inside......probably copper/brass....any ideas???? DSC03348.webpDSC03347.webpDSC03349.webp
 

It could have been a bell with a wooden handle???


Not sure though, it looks too thin for that.

Candle snuffer maybe,cork like material held water and helped put out flame and keep wick from smoking afterwards....:dontknow:

Looks somewhat like a piece of antique bed frame that goes just beneath a finial.
