Any ideas what this is

Found this in dredging from the coast of south ga. After bringing it home and rinsing it off I noticed it shine like brass in a few small places. Rare earth mag won't stick to it. It has rings around the inside like a bell. Any ideas? .

Looks kinda like a pipe cap of sorts. Exploded? Tony

Would they make pipe caps out of brass

I agree. Just trying to figure out to what. I'm cleaning it now. It's definitely brass

Brass and boats go well together and as Tony in SC has suggested, it looks like it might have experienced a traumatic removal. So, maybe from a steam ship's boiler

It looks like the remains of an automobile hubcap from the 1920's or 30's. Nickle plated brass.
