Any ideas

[Older The Better]

Found this today, I’m sure it’s not much but can’t think of what it was for. It’s too small for a thimble I would think, no threads like I would expect on a shaker. Any other ideas?

I can definitely see either, found in the lawn of an old farmhouse. The lip on there could definitely be a way to seat the nozzle into another part.

A thimble with holes would be completely besides it's purpose anyway...
