so far, I can only find shannon miller & crane 1865-1892 ...???

Nice looking button, congrats

Shannon miller & crane was all that I saw as well. I was thinking maybe there was a merge and this button predates the merge.

That's what I'm thinking...

The button is a real Bewt! Congrat's.

Y’all thinking Pre-Rev Navy?

I think Pre-CW Navy, but, but but, I will wait for CBG and his Albert's book that I can't afford yet...lol

I'm just throwing out straws...lol

I found it at a old site. My buddy bassman found his first reale there not too long ago. I found a rev sword clasp there and a few civil war eagle buttons there. The eagle buttons didn't do as well as this one they are really toasted. So who knows it could be pretty old.

I can do the same but once the CBG puts his stamp on it, it’s “let it be said let it be written.” DONE [emoji736]

Federal Navy button, Chief Petty Officers, vertical anchor without eagle (23.5mm) Button depicts fouled anchor on lined background with rope border, this symbolism was used for buttons issued to Chief Petty Officers, junior officers in the Navy. This designation was used extensively after the Civil War, and continues in use today, but was infrequently used during the Civil War. Two part convex button, large coat size.
