Any news when we can expect XP to launch their Go Terrain app?

Isn't it supposed to come out "Summer 2018"? 😉😉😉

Seriously though, I wonder the same thing. The integration would be awesome if it works well.

I tried using Tect-o-trac a few years ago. It's a great app, I just don't like fiddling with my phone while I detect. So hopefully XP will make the integration super slick with the Deus II. Like, if you make a good find, tap the pinpoint button twice quickly and the app will drop a pin.

Something like that would be good.

It seems odd to me they still show it on their website as 'available soon'. You'd think they'd address the delay just to keep customers aware--occasional updates would be appreciated, even if the only info is they just haven't worked out the bugs to their satisfaction. If they're having problems getting it to work effectively I believe letting us know would help with how customers perceive the company--honesty is just as important as a quality product. Having run a PR agency I'll say it's never good PR to just ignore an issue.

The XP website has said "available soon" for a long time.
Hahaha! They have been promising that since the release of the original Deus. I have no idea why they continue to insist that its going to happen.

I no longer care when or even if it comes out.
Well I don't need it, nor probably not use it.
The CTX 3030 had some gadget for tracking, pinned a spot.
Nope my spots are my private permissions. I need no gadget tracking my every movement.
Phone is bad enough.

That was exactly my point when I said it's never good PR to just ignore an issue. It at best creates indifference to the product or company.

I actually wouldn't use the app even if it had been launched as originally planned years ago--it's unnecessary to me. But seeing it still listed on the website as 'available soon', without a single attempt at communicating to their customers about its true status just isn't a good idea.

A GPS doesn't track your movement (or your location). It only tells you where you are, and only when you ask it to. That data stays between you and whoever you decide to share it with. Your phone may be a different matter, but your CTX had no way to upload that information to the internet.

Thanks for the information.
Still old school-look at a site-and make that site an old friend.
Knowing where I dug, what was dug is all that's really needed.

I've seen the tracking(shared overlays) of what a person has detected-kind of interesting in seeing what was covered detecting the site.

How many have written to XP to ask about it? Showing interest/concern never hurts.

I have never had a CTX but have marked finds on a map app with my phone, and it can indeed help you to make sense of a site, particularly a site that hasn't been plowed for 150 years, but even then it can give you some idea of what was where... where roads were, where buildings were, where trails were.

Pretty sure whoever wrote the manual for the Deus II knew damned well that there was no such app.
