1) On a recent hunt I hit an old dump in a mucky area and found what I believe to be a radiator cap from a vintage car. I am trying to ID the make and year of the car this came from but nothing good is coming up on an internet image search so far.

2) On the same property by a creek I dug what looks to be a headlight or tail light with a wire still attached to it. It is 5 3/4" in diameter. I would also like the make and model if anyone out there can recognize it.

Thanks!
Nick

The headlight pan looks more like the ones off of a tractor.

Those caps are called "dogbone", and were add-on accessories, not always on the car when first built. There would be so many types and sizes of threads to fit a certain car, such as internal or external threads, and different diameters.

Most all dogbones had a much larger center hole for what is called a "moto-meter" thermometer. Dates will run from the earliest Teens through later 20s as a rough guide.

The bulb-type reflector piece; sealed beams came out around the 1940 year on most types of vehicles, so it predates that.

Well, it surprised me how many caps yours could be. The hole in the top was either for a maker medallion or insignia. Here's what I came up with from google..... https://www.google.com/search?q=ant...ved=0ahUKEwju-f6U8onSAhXLxlQKHeNpDSIQ_AUIBygC Here's another one with a similar color base... https://www.google.com/search?q=ant...hXLxlQKHeNpDSIQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=Nr6rlKev8YTKAM:
Thanks, Itsmine. This is pretty much what I found but couldn't really find a good match.

Thanks, Mud Hut. I didn't know it was called a headlight pan.

Thanks, CTwoods. That explains why it was so hard to find a match and now I know what to call that style radiator cap! The bulb reflector does look pretty, like pre-1940s to me.
I know they were used on the old Hupmobile cars.

Depending on what vehicle it came off, this is what your dog bone should look like.

Looks good to me, bc5391!
Does anyone think that mine has that 'S' shaped bend in it by design or might it have been forced into that shape? All of the 'dogbon'e examples I've seen seem to have a straight 'bone'.
