My 9 year old grandson, who has leukemia, has been selected by the Oklahoma Make A Wish Foundation to take a trip. He selected Disney World in Orlando. His entire family gets to go and my wife and I are going to tag along.
I was pondering taking my Fisher CZ-5 and hunting the beaches in the wet sand and shallow water possibly at Cocoa Beach. Do any of you have an opinion about this beach? We will be there during the first week in April.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Prime spring break time, so expect the beach, and the park, to be super crowded.

Very cool. "Make a Wish" sent my daughter to Disney World too many years ago. My ex-wife didn't include me in the deal so I paid for my trip to be there with them. They paid for my ex, both daughters, and two Rn's to go. What a great experience. I have many wonderful memories from that trip.

Hope your Grandson gets better.

Prime time to be here!

Anywhere from the Port Canaveral on south is good, you just have to swing your coil in the right place. ;D

~~Happy Hunting~~

detectordude,

Cocoa beach is a fav. I took my boys there when there were pre-teens, detected the beach, and had a blast.

Park close to the pier, ron jons surf shop is just a couple blocks away. :icon_sunny:

If you find Ron Jons Surf Shop, cant miss it, drive down the street on its North side towards the beach. There is a parking lot there near the beach, it used to be free, might still be. That beach is very popular, so maybe you will find something good. Good luck.
