My mom's uncle showed me that I could dowse when I was about 5. I've used them over the years for various things, but not until about 4 years ago did I actually take it serious. My boss (at that time) was trying to locate a drainage line that was PVC, but could't dig all over to find it. I bent 2 welding rods, and within minutes I had located the line, and followed it end to end.
He refused to accept my explanation that I had no clue how it works, it just does. I was viewed as unorthodox until I left that job a couple years later.
I like the rods. I don't always use them, not sure why. But they feel right in my hands, and have yet to be wrong.
Is it divination? Sorcery? Got me...
My best set is made out of a gas-welding rod. It's copper coated steel, and always feel warm when I grip them.
I don't discuss this normally, unless I'm in the company of other dowsers. I am, however, very curious about other peoples' experience with them, and the reactions that other nondowsers have when this is done or mentioned.
