I'm looking around for a good sand scoop and I was wondering if anyone uses one of these Diamond Head sand scoops by Nuttall Enterprises.

It is stainless steel with a fiberglass shaft. I was thinking that maybe the shape of the head might give it more penetrating power, especially in rocky sand.

Any thoughts or experiences with this thing?

Awesome is the first word that comes to mind, it has taken everything I can throw at it and looks like i just bought it.
It's my "in the water scoop" I have a different scoop i drag around on the beach, but if I could only have one scoop the diamond head would be it.

Yup I agree had one for a few years and it split at a weld I contacted Travis who said send it back and he sent me a brand new one thats customer service. I have replaced my handle with a wooden one, I like it better that way plus if it comes unhooked I will see it floating.

It drains great and digs great in any type of hard mud, sand I throw at it....

Makes a good weapon against sharks also

They are great scoops, I use one with the fiberglass handle and it is like a hot knife through butter. The guy that makes them Travis is a great guy and loves to hear about stuff you dig with his scoops.

Thanks for the input; I went ahead and ordered the 48-inch since I'm on the tall side and some people thought the 40-inch was a bit short.
