Any treasures legends about western nc ?

Everything I've read so far only talks about pirate treasure and all of that is on the east side of the state.

I think with a bit of searching you can find some close to you. Just from memory (I know, its faulty) Blowing Rock area may have one documented. Gold is in the area, surprisingly close, so no telling what you may come up with. Lived there for a while in '79, a fella then was doing a bit of dredging on the creek in town. I would bet it wasn't just for the exercise, he was out there too often. South toward Morganton gold is more frequent I think, but mostly fine. Marion area then further south. Rutherfordton of course Belcher? minted gold, supposed to be a stash around somewhere. Talk to the old timers see what you come up with.

Well the whole town of Blowing Rock and surrounding areas would not be, but I am sure certain places would be. Common Sense.
