Anybody around Las Vegas Nevada area like gold prospecting & treasure hunting

Me and my son have been doing some exploring and gold prospecting in the surrounding desert. We have a great time; however, my son would like to meet someone close to his age (18) with whom he can go outdoors with once in awhile. His preference is Hardrock Gold Prospecting. We have not lived in Las Vegas very long and don't really know anybody. Not a biggie for me since I am at work a lot and my wife likes to spend time with me during weekends. But, he wants to get out more than what I am able to and hasn't met anyone close to his age that is in to the outdoors like he is. Anybody out there?
