Anyone ever metal detect Folly Beach, SC

Has anyone ever metal detect the Folly Beach area? I live in NC about 3 hours away and was planning on heading down that way.

I went there once year ago. A winter storm had taken out a lot of sand. The woods used to extend into the ocean there. There were some tree stumps visible at low tide. The guys had better machines than me back then. They dug a bunch of minie balls, as where we were used to be a Civil War camp, I was getting skunked pretty good, until I dug a nearly pristine US oval cartridge box plate. Didn't dig anything else. I still have it.

Wow that's awesome. If it works out I am probably going to go down there once or twice a month.

You should get jewelry and clad now. For the old stuff a nor'easter or hurricaine has the rake the coast.
