Hi everyone I wanted to get another unit and been doing some research for a new detector. I went on a few different forums and thought of getting a Minelab Excalibur but some have said that this machine struggles in Hawaii!! So I am looking for some feed back for the Fisher CZ-21? How is this machine work? Is it good and how is the customer service? Hope to hear some feedback! Aloha ;D

To the contrary, I heard the Excalibur works good for Hawaii because it handles all that "hot" rock. If you hit black sand, you are gonna need that Excalibur.

Ditto on the Excal for your location.

Thanks for all of your wonderful advice!! I guess I am struggling with the notion of spending $1,000 on a machine and I want to get the right one!! I heard from another post that there is a hunter in the islands that is finding tons of gold rings on the outer islands. He is using the Fisher CZ-21 and before that he was using the Excalibur with so so results!! That is why I am having a hard time, so many detectors to choose from and not enough money!! I hate buying a detector that doesn't work right for my applications!! Oh well, I guess I will just have to weigh out the pros and cons and keep looking on these posts for more ideas!! Aloha ;D

makahaman ,
Have you ever considered buying a used unit? That way if for some reason it wouldn't work well in your area you can pretty much be sure to get your money back if you need to sell it. If you buy a new unit and need to sell it you will have a used unit to sell. Just like when you drive a new car off the lot the value of the car will drop.
Figure out your best choice for a detector and look for a good deal on a used one. It will save you money and it will be easy to recover the cost if you needed to. Just a thought.... Good luck, Highwater

Hi guys I was talking with another guy from a different forum and he suggested the Fisher CZ-21 from the Minelab. There is a guy that lives here and was using a Minelab and wasn't finding too much but then he started using his Fisher CZ-21 and started finding lots of rings!! He noticed that the Fisher worked better in Hawaii than the Minelab so I guess that speaks for itself. The guys on the other forums said they saw photos of all the gold hes finding and it phenomenal!! I am just worried about their warranties and customer service. If any of you used the Minelab in Hawaii can you please tell me the outcomes? Thanks ;D
