Does anyone have an idea on what this is? I dug this up today with a metal detector in a field so it seems like a hose part would be out of question.

Wash it and give us a photo after it is clean we might be able to ID then I have an idea but I want to see it after clean-up. I may change my thought as to what it is.

That does seem super likely- I just have no clue why it was in the middle of a field isolated from any house/building.

Because tractors have hydraulic fittings and they break where they want to, not always in a convenient spot.
