I got out all my coins I collected (mainly coin roll hunting) yesterday. I organized them all into date and mint. I really only have pennies and nickels, but it'd work for any denomination. I got onto microsoft word and made a table and listed how many of each I had. I added a picture, it's sort of what it looks like. It lost detail in the copy paste for some reason.

Has anyone else done anything like this? This way, any time I get a new coin, I can keep track of what all I have.

ya got a good idea there, but there is a program out there "forgot its name" but is advertised in coin prices mag,
a good lookin chart though,a tip for ya is you should put the condition down of each coin also, that will help keep better track of your coin collection... ::)

After I posted that, I typed in google "coin inventory" and it gave a large list of downloadable programs like that. I might try a few of them out, see if there's one that makes it easy instead of more difficult. We'll see. I'm fairly happy with my tables for now

I put together an Excel spreadsheet of all my "keeper" coins since I first started detecting. (33 years ago).
I also photographed the better ones in 2x2 holders. All the common date silver, IH cents, V nickels, Buffalo nickels, and wheat cents I put in coin rolls and have run a cumulative total.
