anyone know the name of this movie?

saw a movie in the mid 90's about 2 fireman that go into the ghetto to recover some gold that was hidden in an old run down vacant industrial building. one gets killed by a member of a gang, and the other gets away but without the gold. a bum gets the gold. seems like a rapper played a gang member, maybe ice t? this is driving me crazy
